The predecessor of Huitong was Linqing Medium-size Unginned Cotton Processing Factory. The group was established in 1999, with closer subordinate enterprises Luxi Cotton Textile Factory, Luxi Cotton Pursing and Processing Factory, Luxi Knitting Factory, Lutian Commercial Building, Renewable Resources Company, Xiaolin Huitong Knitting Co. Ltd, Futian Huitong Knitting Fabrics Co. Ltd and some loose enterprises.
　　As teaching and research base of Xi'an University of Engineering (formerly Xi'an Textile Engineering College), it developed relying on technology and adopted the ISO9002 quality system certification in 2001. Now it is equipped with 100,000 spindles, Italian original imported machines, concluding 14 automatic winders, 15 double twisters, 16 PX2 combers, 2 blowing-carding units, 7 CJ40 combers and 2 new open-end spinning machines, as well as 148 Japan jet and rapier looms. It perennially produce combed and carded series of yarns, such as cotton yarn, polyester-cotton yarn, medium-length polyester-viscose yarn, modal yarn, siro yarn and core-spun elastic yarn etc. (yarn products quality reaching Ulster communiqué 5% level),  as well as series of gray cloth. Its main garments are cultural clothes, T-shirts, sleeveless shirts, knitted blouses and printing knitted blouses. 70% of its products are sold in the domestic market, while 30% are sold far to Japan, the Republic of Korea, Italy, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Europe and the United States as well as other countries and regions.
